Rose Plaid Large Project Bag
The Rose Plaid Large Project Bag and all other bags are sewn from cotton/cotton-blend fabrics that once belonged to a prolific seamstress and were passed along to me.
The large project bag made with repurposed fabric is a charming and eco-friendly accessory that showcases creativity, sustainability, and a sense of purpose. Crafted with care and ingenuity, this bag is a testament to the beauty of repurposing materials to create something new and useful.
All bags are lined with high-quality, light-colored fabric. A light-colored lining helps the contents to be more easily seen instead of hiding in dark corners. Between the outside fabric and lining is a batting that helps to stabilize the bag.
The corners of the bags are squared off, which along with the batting, helps the bag to “stand” instead of falling over. Finishing off the bags is a stylish wristlet of matching or coordinating fabric that is attached with a lobster clasp to the zipper. This allows the bag to be carried more easily as well as using the zipper more easily.
All fabrics have been washed before the bags are sewn. This helps to remove any sizing that may be in the fabric along with pre-shrinking the fabric. Shrinking is fairly common with cotton fabrics so we want the possible shrinking to happen BEFORE any bags are made!
The wristlet measures about 6″ long which helps someone with arthritis to open and close it easily! In addition, these bags are easy enough for a child to open and keep toys or clothes in. When a child fills the bag with clothing, they can also use the bag as a pillow!
Supporting other small businesses is part of my mission. Zippers are from Wawak.com, lobster clasps are from an Etsy seller, Jewelry Blanks and the rivets are from Chair and Chisel also on Etsy.
